Penultimate Post

The Awakening is so good, y’all. Even Men’s Rights activists like me my friend Dave love it. He called it “pretty fucking good NGL!” I lamented “[his] use of an abbreviation IRL” and trashed his favorite band — some local punk act, probably. Um, here are some groundbreaking blogs that need to have reports written about them …

adobe slabs - Very minimal and updated about once a month, adobe slabs is marginally good. Solid songs are posted; certain lyrics from the songs are written in chaotic and very pleasing fonts. Follow this blog even though it’s definitely “adobe slats” …

MS Paint album covers - Pretty confident that this is the best blog on Tumblr. Probably. So wonderful. Self-explanatory. [goes on to explain it anyway] Follow the hell out of this blog. Now!

ONLY THE YOUNG DIE YOUNG - Fun blog with great images and songs. The music posts are very cool. Patronize this short-form blog.

Booklover - Every quotation posted here is wonderful. There are beautiful pictures on Booklover, too. Check this blog out. Y’all.

OH, INTERNET! - Quite the site! I enjoy this because I enjoy the Internet, much like you will and do.

Sorry to cut this short, but I need to perform a few crucial tasks. I don’t repeat bros, so check out these other FFs. Be back a little later to tell y’all about a really big project that I’ve been thinking about. See you later! Happy Friday! Bleh-meh-eh!

Primer Bloggers

Ugh! What a terrible week! I’m mostly kidding, but I’m happy that spring break — for my very small sector of northern New Jersey — has finally begun. Notable tokens of the past week include the continued greatness of Kate Chopin’s The Awakening, my school introducing new ultra-specific hall passes, and my (often) good friend Paul helping me out with the complex college process. Hey: last week I was experiencing feelings of indolence and confusion and I didn’t give y’all a Follow Friday list. So let me make that up and also dish out this week’s sweet brothers and sisters.

Make Up for Last Week!

undecided - Who isn’t following our opener on Twitter? And who doesn’t read her lengthy answers to her Formspring questions? I suppose “no worries” if you haven’t consumed any of the MissKimball brand yet — but start … now!

The Sounds They Make - Divine music tumblelog. John’s a terrific discoverer and writer. Also, he makes his own contributions to music. He had a track on an Erefutre compilation which is free and — I’m praying! — still available.

JaredXD - Creator of Zingle’d and upper-class tweeter Jared hasn’t updated his blog in about twelve years but he’s an Internet celebrity who deserves to be addressed formally and affectionately. What? Um, just follow one of stranger chat culture’s leading bros.

Word Journal - Infrequently updated blog about infrequently encountered words. Essential for at least 25% of my followers … who are probably already “rabid aficionados” of Word Journal.

Things I Ate That I Love - I’ve been an Emily Gould fan since my Web Design teacher read us — this is high school, damn it — “Exposed” and made us create websites with content related to that of her article’s. Y’all should follow her Tumblr if you don’t; And the Heart Says Whatever is in stores May 1 … I think.

Lovely Blogs for This Week!

Dead Writers Club - Don’t necessarily agree with its mission statement, but this blog is fun and informative. Ch-ch-check it out!

DAN METH - This is a profoundly talented man we’re dealing with here. I remember watching Channel Frederator shorts on my iPod a few years ago, laughing out loud at this man’s content. Oh, you must follow Mr. Meth!

Art/Music: Indie - I have an obsession with album art and this blog — which the cool Staff promoted eleven days ago — supports my fixation. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart have a new single coming out … heck yes!

catroulette - Please visit this site now. It’s finally “wearing thin” … and it’s one of the few single topic blogs I enjoy. Thank you. Meow.

Direction? - Stumbled upon this blog in a James Joyce frenzy, and it’s quite good. Lovers and dissenters, follow Hannah and enjoy her posts.

As I enter the weekend — and, let me rub it in your narrowed visages: spring break — I feel some malaise. Let’s brush it off and attack our surroundings, though. Time to study for the SAT and read a few novels. Relax and drink many cups of coffee. Express love for those people that commonly convert indifference into passion. You know? Have a wonderful weekend/life, followers!

Weekend Sisters

Wait, slut? Another zippy seven days, another “meh” Follow Friday list for y’all. Let’s cut the introductory drivel short this week and attack — um, promote — my favorite blogs, that, like, I haven’t already mentioned.

You Nostalgia, You Lose - Rachel Zehava’s picture blog focuses on — well — nostalgia. It’s something y’all should check out if you were born in the 1990s and thought Polly Pocket was to be treasured even if you were a guy … um, Rachel’s latest post is a still from Cousin Skeeter. Cousin Skeeter

Zen of Blogging - One of the better music blogs you’ll find here. Ariel listens to some good shit and makes lovely playlists; he posts songs he truly enjoys. Not just new shit like some faggots I often do. Follow Zen of Blogging, guys.

Blue Whales And Something Creative - Some really solid writing here. This bro has a poetry book out. Follow him. Be rewarded.

gifs of popular rappers - I guess this is a decent idea. I guess it’s worth a look.

WakeMeWithAKiss - Katie’s cool. She likes Vampy Weeks and Panic at the Disco. I’d follow her. Oh wait … I am. Y’all should too!

firmuhment - Let’s just say that I’m going to make a conscious effort to read everything Justin’s written here, as I’ve only recently discovered his wonderful tumblelog. He keeps doing things that I wish I’d thought of. You know? Yeah, you should probably follow firmuhment. It’s one of the most beautiful things on the web.

I’m terribly sorry, Sirs and Madams, but I must leave you for today. And, to some degree, forever. Tomorrow I’ll tell you more about a project I’ve been thinking for a month or so. Have a good day, or a breathtaking night. Seriously: take care. I love you all.

Great Citizens

This week zoomed by, listeners and ignorers. I spent too much time spamming ninth-grade girls’ Formsprings, vocally satisfying myself, reading about memes, and writing letters — which I’ll never send! — to David Karp. My weekend will be uneventful; I’m in bad health right now. Follow these bros!

socially awkward penguin - Twelfth SAP blog hasn’t been updated in two weeks.

NEW JERSEY - Brilliant New Jersey music blog hasn’t been updated in nine months.

PokemonMistress - Eighteen-year-old girl narrates life amongst video games.

I Hear Colours - Indie music blog becomes major Tumblr success story.

We love stop-motion - Lovely account with “some ads” showcases the art of frame-by-frame animation.

I severely apologize for this lackluster, rather pedestrian list. Not my style. Ripped from Piero Scaruffi. Check out these three other lists. I probably love you. Take care.

Farewell Week

A lot to do this weekend: including, and limited to, promoting my Twitter, refreshing my Formspring inbox, and playing a round of Chatroulette. Follow these people, y’all.

Greetings From NJ - My state gets a lot of shit. We’re the home of “orange-skinned douchebags, dozens of toxic waste facilities, faggots, and the Passaic River goddamnit.” That’s neither true nor was ever spoken, but Greetings From NJ shall make you set aside negative stereotypes and enjoy our state for the beautiful thing that it is. (Literally, Sufjan Stevens was going to do his next album on NJ — no he wasn’t — before he got all existential on us.)

Tumblr Awards - Trying to win multiple of these babies by promoting their official site. Although, according to “common knowledge/Wikipedia clones,” the Tumblr Awards died a long time — in microblogging years — ago. Still: what if they are revived.

the emporium - I discovered Jill’s blog about four seconds ago — bookspaperscissors recommended it. (Thank you, sidebar!) Um, the emporium is just a wonderful blog. It’s ultra-stylish. Enjoy!

A Writer’s Ruminations - I follow a lot of literature blogs. Writers’ blogs. Yeah, and A Writer’s Ruminations is very good. It helps me out. Great quotations. Solid original content. Thumbs up to this divine tumblelog.

gold panda - There are two things on gold panda: a peculiar 4-line dialogue between a musician and a shopkeeper, and a graphic with a computer on it. The picture reminds us that Gold Panda is thankfully working on his debut album. I remember that gorgeous July 31st morning when I woke up feeling like Pitchfork CEO Ryan Schreiber … and then I logged onto pitchfork.com and selected Best New Music … and my love affair with “Quitters Raga” had begun … ♥7/31/09♥

Curiouser and Curiouser - Got to give a shout-out to this tumblelog where rebloggable pics are found in abundance. I shall follow this blog into the dar — forever. Um, y’all will surely enjoy Rachel’s posts. All of them are “absurd” — true “epic wins.”

“I need to do some chores”; “My schedule is calling me”; “I have a life”; “Test tomorrow”; “I have better things to do.” Ideally, one of those excuses for this abrupt departure from an otherwise-fun wrap-up would work. Too bad those are just stock phrases I pulled from stockphrases.org … visit it? Quickly: if I didn’t mention you, don’t fret. I never repeat. All of the bros I’m following will get their time in the spotlight. Here’s my other two FFs. Take care, my beloved readers.

Pedantic Pros

It’s been a speedy week for me. From the HSPA, to Javelin’s “Oh! Centra,” March’s opening few days have played out smoothly — easily. When I slashed my nickrapper URL, I kind of killed the whole Nick Rapper brand. My blog is no longer connected with sophomore year or some third-rate fictional account. (Vote in the month-old poll, ladies.) Didactic Fizzle is a pretentious entry into interest-based connections. I’m stepping up. I’m Nick now, searching for a pen name and an ink cartridge. And although six people I know in the physical realm have tumblelogs, I have reason to feel alienated. Hye-Sung took a little break. Sarah hasn’t updated in, like, forever. Ant could care less about Tumblr. Wilbur’s posts usually don’t connect with me. Ryan’s creatively-titled blog is just … empty. Laura’s an exception — her blog is fun to read and consistently updated. If my calculations — roughly: Tumblr - individuality + unselfish selfishness — are correct, it is Follow Friday. I’m like Staff. I don’t repeat. Okay? Cool — let us proceed!

you came here looking for me, well here i am - One of the better only connections I made on Zingle’d, this new Tumblr user was promised to be included in my next “tangent-ish” Follow Friday list. So … like … follow Jenifer. She’s been on this site for two weeks. She likes Tool. Her blog is pretty.

Lets swim to the moon, lets climb through the tide - You should probably check this Tumblr out. The pictures posted are sweet.

Julia Allison • Nonsociety - I’ll never stop laughing at Miss Allison. Her whole entire life seems like a big laugh track. She exists in a non-tangible way. But she’s everywhere. At once. That introduction. That introduction.

It’s a terrible thing. - Tumblr bros like to toss the world quality around. Without regard to Tavie. Because, like, her blog is that word. So if you aren’t Tavie, you aren’t quality. Unless you’re Julia Allison.

Next thing we’re touching. - Although currently suffering from post-Featured fatigue and drawer’s block, Lauren is very funny. Check out this blog, mates.

I am a hopeless romantic, - I met this girl on Zingle’d. (Are there any males on that site?) We followed each other after she said my intro was a bit “cynical.” Um.

BRITTICISMS - One of the finest music tumblelogs in recent memory. Get your daily indie intake in this avant-garde funhouse.

iwanttobeahorse - Follow this blog for wonderful pictures and related paraphernalia. You will certainly not be disappointed, Sirs and Madams.

HIPSTER RUNOFF - Trying to get the word out.

Bebe Zeva - …

This weekend is packed, lovers and dissenters. So many social events to attend! Going to local Nickelback fan John “Six-Pack; Popular; Football Team” Henson’s party. And this one kid that I met on Facistbook invited me to Destroy America. It may or may not be exactly what you’re thinking it probably is. Oh, and if I can get around to it these five creative-type sluts want to do “things to/with [me] … so meet [them] at [some alt whorehouse] … on Sunday.”

Whoops. Wrong outro.

This weekend will be spent reading Into the Wild, writing a sophomore chick an overly-long birthday blog post, and exploring the events that comprised Boy’s Don’t Cry (the movie). Also, maybe I can get to page seven of Metacritic’s religion thread. Take care, kind souls. I love you!

Lovable Leaders

Hi! My name is Nick and I formerly blogged extraneously at nickrapper.tumblr.com. Something lame happened and I set that site on fire. Its ashes were saved and I’m here for the second time, interested at your lack of interest, Tumbling about Tumblr. I’m unable to restrain my love for Follow Friday. Hipster Runoff says it “seems like a great way to build a community.” Here, solemn readers, is a handful of tumblelogs that you will follow. Every single one of their posts is “attractive pop silver.”

Zetlife - I met this high school kid on Omegle. Wait — let me clarify. I “met” some entity on Omegle who claims to be a high school kid. He told me that he created a religion. I kind of convinced him to write his thoughts out in a guide. And I also told this bro that I’d surely read it! I informed him of my exploits in blogworld. While we chatted — and on behalf of me — he created Zetlife.

Classy Living - A mixture of secular and religious content, Hye-Sung’s blog is lovely. Also, I know him — searches for synonym, comes up short — in real life. Just … please follow him. He won’t crowd your dash. But he will deliver the goods.

mayhem is beautiful. - Honestly: everything posted here is delicious. The photos always force cliches into my mind; the commentary makes me laugh. Follow this blog now!

lucky paper stars - This is a profoundly funny tumblelog. A really “negligible” wonderful addition to the many sarcastic, sardonic, etc. pages you find by solid writers who make their mark on the Internet.

ASK An American (PATRIOT)! - Videogum legend An American Patriot just created a tumblelog. Follow it — AAP is bizarre and always hilarious. Ask him whatever you shall; he will answer. Probably!

People Hugging the New Joanna Newsom Album - It may take me a few days to explain the concept of this blog, so if you would kindly give me your attention for the next hour …

Julie Klausner - “Funny person” Julie Klausner has a Tumblr account and it’s comical enough. Um … I Don’t Care About Your Band is in select stores now. Read it. Laugh. Read it again. Cry.

R A I S I N M I L K - On my “old + charred” blog — what was it called? — The Fictional Companion I totally said that this is the prettiest tumblelog evah. Well … it still is! And you should follow it. Why? Because, according to a few recently discovered documents, you like sparkles, gifs, electronic music, and glitter.

That concludes this installment of a timeless microblog tradition. Now I must leave you and watch The Soup. It’s this “super-nu” alt show on E! It stars the guy from Community. Bye.
